The Corporation of Strategic Reserves of Oil-based Products (CORES, by its Spanish acronym) is the organisation responsible for managing
strategic reserves
and controlling the compulsory minimum security stocks (petroleum products and natural gas) in Spain.

Strategic stocks comprise CORES for the obligated, from zero hour on January 1, 2010
From 1 January 2010 and in accordance with the Fourth Transitional Provision of Royal Decree 1716/2004, the total required minimum safety stock is set at 92 days of sales or consumption, rather than the previous 90 days. The CORES Board held on date September 17, 2009 decided that the two additional days minimum security stocks were made directly by CORES as strategic holdings.

amending Royal Decree 1716/2004 of 23rd July, which regulates the obligation to hold minimum safety stocks, the diversification of natural gas supplies and the Corporation of Strategic Reserves of Oil-based Products.
